Musee des Beaux Arts
This poem to me was talking about how people go about their everyday and do not care what is happening around them if it doesn't pertain to them not quite sure if i want to say selfish or self absorbed. The writer put it perfectly you can have an event as miraculous as birth or as tragic as the painting he saw on the day he wrote the poem of a boy falling to his death does anyone really care.
The part I focused on was when Icarus fell to his death I thought was it an accident or maybe suicide there was a sail boat in the water who had to see everything but just kept sailing by and a man ploughing who probably saw too but was too busy to stop and see. I feel as a society today we are like the ship sailing and the man ploughing we know something is wrong but instead of stopping to see if help is needed we go about our own busy and let the someone else worry about it.

week 1 poems
On the Amtrak from Boston to New York City
It is not hard to understand this poem, the white woman was so happy to tell the American Indian about our history and the American Indian was so bitter that the Indian heritage was taken from them by the white man but what was worse the feeling that they had to adapt white man cultures to be accepted and be silent of their true feelings.
The part I focused on was the American Indian believed Americans were the enemy and plans were needed on what to do or say the next time this type of situation arose and my thought was how far would the hatred towards the white man would be taken to get the point across.
Woman's Work
This poem hit home for me because I grew up with a Mom who was similar each day of the week there was a different chore and I couldn't go out to play either until they were done and they were always finished before my father came home and she would get dressed put on her makeup even if she was tired she dressed up and looked refreshed for when he came home. The girl in the poem doesn't seem to understand why and she hates it, but if the poem was written when i think it was woman didn't hate housework it was there job to keep a house as neat as pin and show their daughters it gave them a sense of pride just as their husbands went out to work to provide for them.
When I got to the end she stated even though she couldn't wait to leave and become the exact opposite of her Mom she became an artist and stays home just as her Mom and perfecting her art now she understood how her Mom loved her job being a housewife.

Lois
My name is Lois Borusewicz I live in South Jersey now but North Jersey still has my heart. I always wanted to be a nurse but I had life first being a wife, mother and raising my children once they became self sufficient it was time for me I went to school for my LPN and now pursuing my RN I am affirm believer in following your dreams it may take time but it can be done.
The challenge for me in this class is try not be wordy when I write it is hard for me to get to the point to end a story and when to use punctuation. Being out of school for awhile you forget some of the proper way of writing ,what nouns adverbs verbs pronouns do, and being a nurse you need to be writing you nursing notes correctly so they can be understood so I believe this class can help regain that back.

I recently saw Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock heard the reviews were good but i was not crazy about this movie. It was unrealistic that she would be hanging in space and going from one space ship to another to get herself home, at times it looked like to me she was swimming thru the space ship I would have turned it off but watched till the end because nothing else was on. Just read 2 reviews saying the that Alfonso's Cuaron's Fravity was a tense sic fi thriller that was masterfully directed and visually stunning 81% of people liked it.
